The 2019 Ruby Hutchison Memorial Lecture will be hosted by the ACCC and CHOICE on Wednesday 13 March 2019 at RACV City Club, 501 Bourke Street in Melbourne.

CHOICE and the ACCC are pleased to announce that Mr Edward Santow, Human Rights Commissioner, will be delivering the 2019 Ruby Lecture.

Mr Santow has been the Human Rights Commissioner at the Australian Human Rights Commission since August 2016. Prior to this, from 2010-2016, Mr Santow was chief executive of the Public Interest Advocacy Centre. His areas of expertise include human rights, public law and discrimination law. He is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales. In 2009, Mr Santow was presented with an Australian Leadership Award, and in 2017, he was recognised as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Mr Santow’s will focus on AI and new technologies including the impact on privacy and how our personal information is likely to be used against us.
