On 13 August 2021, Telstra submitted a proposed variation to its Migration Plan, which contains the rules and processes that Telstra will follow when disconnecting services from its legacy fixed line networks because of their migration of services to the NBN.

The proposed variation relates to:

  • disconnection arrangements for services supplied to multi dwelling unit common areas including fire and lift telephone services
  • disconnection arrangements for premises that cannot be connected to the NBN
  • differentiation between public and private payphone services and disconnection arrangements for private payphone services
  • processes used to authorise the reconnection of services on Telstra’s legacy networks such as when services were disconnected in error or where the migration was unsuccessful.

More information is available on the ACCC website at: Variation request submitted

The ACCC is seeking submissions on the proposed variation by COB 21 October 2021. Submissions can be sent to ssu-migration@accc.gov.au.
