The ACCC monitors the prices, costs and profits of the major domestic airlines as part of a government direction which expires in December 2026. The government first directed the ACCC to do this in June 2020 under a direction which expired in June 2023.
The penalty guidelines are a publicly available document, promoting greater awareness and transparency in the ACCC’s approach to assessing penalties.
