The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission will have limited operations during the Christmas-New Year period.

The ACCC Infocentre (1300 302 502) will:

  • open until 6 p.m. 24 December 2010
  • open from 8.30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on 30 and 31 December, and
  • resume normal operations at 8.30 a.m. on 4 January 2011.

Businesses wishing to lodge an application for an authorisation decision should email adjudication@accc.gov.au.

Any queries or information that businesses would like to submit to the ACCC in relation to a merger or acquisition (whether or not the ACCC is presently reviewing that merger or acquisition) should be emailed to: mergers@accc.gov.au.  Alternatively, phone (02) 6243 1274 during business hours.

From 1 January 2011 businesses are required to report a product safety incident under the new Mandatory Reporting requirements. Reports can be made online at www.productsafety.gov.au/mandatoryreporting, or by phoning the Infocentre on the first business day after 1 January – that is 4 January.

Mail will be received and processed as usual on 29, 30 and 31 December, and from 4 January.
