The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission today announced its expected date for making a final decision on the proposed acquisition of Queensland Gas Company Limited by Santos Limited.
The ACCC anticipates making a final decision on the proposed acquisition on Wednesday 31 January 2007.
"This change has arisen due to the delay by Santos in responding to an information request", ACCC Chairman, Mr Graeme Samuel, said today.
The ACCC had expected to announce its decision on 7 December 2006. The timeline was suspended on 23 November 2006 after a request for further information from Santos. Santos has still not responded to the information request. The ACCC will now give Santos until early January to respond.
