Description of Conduct

On 31 October 2009, AgStewardship Australia Limited applied for authorisation on behalf of the proposed signatories of the Industry Waste Reduction Scheme to impose a four cent levy per litre/kilogram on manufacturers and suppliers of Agricultural and Veterinary (AgVet) chemicals. The levy will be ultimately passed on to end users. The Scheme incorporates the drumMUSTER and ChemClear programs, which provide for the collection of unwanted, empty AgVet chemical containers.

On 21 January 2009 the ACCC decided to grant authorisation to AgStewardship for five years. A copy of the determination is available from the "ACCC decisions" link below.
