Resource New South Wales (RNSW) (Resource NSW) on behalf of the Southern Sydney Council (SSC) lodged an application seeking authorisation to allow a group of Southern Sydney Councils to jointly select (via a tender process) a contractor to receive, store, process and dispose of dry recyclable material (DRM) for ten years. The successful contractor would be required to construct a material recycling facility (MRF) in the southern Sydney region. Contracts to be managed by Southern Sydney Waste Boards (SSWB).
The Commission authorised the southern Sydney councils to collectively tender for material recycling facilities operators with the view to appointing one to sort and dispose of their dry recyclable material for ten years.
