Description of Conduct

RACGP sought authorisation allowing GPs working within an associateship meeting certain criteria or a partnership with corporate partners, to agree on patient fees subject to conditions. Also sought authorisation to allow GPs to agree on the fees to be charged by locums.

Application granted subject to conditions. In particular, Commission added criteria to those proposed by the RACGP regarding associateships, and restricted authorisation of partnerships with corporate members to those that met certain criteria. Commission also imposed reporting requirements on GPs taking advantage of the authorisation.
