Description of Conduct

On 23 March 2023, The Hospitals Contribution Fund of Australia Limited (HCF), a private health insurer, applied to the ACCC seeking revocation and substitution of its current authorisation (AA1000402) which expired on 1 June 2023. Specifically, HCF sought authorisation to enter into and give effect to contracts, arrangements or understandings for particular services with dental clinics who participate in its More For Teeth Program, and who are located in the same local catchment areas as HCF’s own dental clinics in its Dental Centre Network. The agreements set maximum fees for some services.

Authorisation was sought for a period of 10 years.

On 7 December 2023, the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation for a period of 5 years, until 6 December 2028.
