Description of Conduct
On 2 May 2012 the Transport Workers' Union of Australia - Queensland Branch sought authorisation for owner drivers contracted to CEVA, a car carrier operating in Queensland, to engage in collective bargaining with CEVA, with TWU Qld's help. This would be to establish new contractual arrangements for the carrying of cars. TWU sought authorisation for five years.
The application also included a request for interim authorisation. Following consultation with interested parties, the ACCC granted conditional interim authorisation on 24 May 2012.
On 26 July 2012 the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation, for five years.
