Description of Conduct
On 26 August 2021, the State of Victoria as represented by the Department of Health (the Department) lodged an application seeking the revocation of authorisation AA1000491 and substitution with AA1000567.
The Department, on behalf of itself, specified private healthcare providers operating in Victoria, and all Victorian public hospitals and other healthcare facilities, seek to negotiate and enter into agreements with each participating private healthcare provider, under which the Department will provide funding and those providers will provide resources and services to the overall response to COVID-19 in Victoria being coordinated by the Department.
The Department also seeks authorisation on behalf of other private healthcare providers notified to the ACCC from time to time.
On 28 September 2021, the ACCC issued a draft determination proposing to grant reauthorisation and granting interim authorisation.
On 2 December 2021, the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation for 18 months, until 24 June 2023.
