AIG proposes to offer a 50 per cent reduction in the retention (excess) payable on clean-up costs and emergency recovery costs claims per claims per pollution event under AIG Pollution Legal Liability insurance policies (up to a maximum of $30 000) to existing and prospective customers who pay up to more than a specified minimum annual premium (likely to be in the order of $25 000) on the condition that the customer retains a member of AIG's Pollution Incident and Environmental Response program panel of contractors to provide clean-up and response services and the customer is accepted by the panel member.
