Summary
The proposed conduct involves the following parties:
(1) AIA Australia Ltd (AIAA). AIAA is a registered life insurance company under the Life Insurance Act 1995 (Cth) and is licensed to provide financial services under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). AIAA is a provider of, among other things, life insurance products and services and offers and administers the AIA Vitality program in Australia, a science-backed health and wellbeing program.
(2) GMHBA Limited (GMHBA) and health.com.au Pty Ltd (HCA) (together the GMHBA entities or the Notifying Parties). The GMHBA entities carry on the business of providing private health insurance and are registered as private health insurers under the Private Health Insurance (Prudential Supervision) Act 2015 (Cth).
The GMHBA entities intend to supply, or offer to supply, health insurance policies to customers at particular prices (including discount prices) or with particular benefits, on the condition that that the customer acquires, or has acquired, membership in the AIA Vitality Program.
