Summary
Insurance Manufacturers of Australia Pty Ltd, Insurance Australia Ltd, SGIO Insurance Ltd and SGIC General Insurance (the IAG Insurers) lodged a notification in relation to their Choice of Repairer Policy. Under the terms of the Standard Policy, when a claim is made and the IAG Insurer decides to have the vehicle repaired, the insured will not have the right to nominate the repairer. Selection of repairer will be at the sole discretion of the IAG Insurer. However, the policy holder will have the option of paying an extra premium to have the right to select a repairer in the event the vehicle is repaired under the policy.
