On 20 October 2022, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) granted an exemption under section 56GD of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) to Beyond Bank Australia Ltd deferring its consumer data sharing obligations in respect of joint accounts and delivery of certain profile scope functionality until 31 March 2023, and its obligations in respect of non-individuals until 1 July 2023. The exemption only applies in relation to former South West Credit Union (now Beyond Bank Warrnambool) customers. The ACCC granted the exemption in response to an application from BBA.
