Exemption for ReAmped Energy Pty Ltd

On 19 May 2023, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) granted ReAmped Energy Pty Limited (ReAmped Energy) an exemption under section 56GD of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) from its consumer data sharing obligations. It is a condition of the exemption that ReAmped Energy notify the ACCC in writing, as soon as practicable, of any of the following events occurring: (1) ReAmped Energy reaches 10,000 small customers, or (2) ReAmped Energy makes an application to become an accredited person. It is also a condition of the exemption that ReAmped Energy provides a notification to the ACCC if it wishes Part 4 of the Competition and Consumer (Consumer Data Right) Rules 2020 to apply to it on and from a specified date. The ACCC granted the exemption in response to an application from ReAmped Energy.
