On 18 November 2022, Australia Post provided the ACCC with a price notification proposing price increases for its reserved ordinary letter services to apply from 3 January 2023.
These proposals included an increase in the basic postage rate for ordinary small letters delivered under the regular timetable by 9.1% (i.e. from $1.10 to $1.20). Australia Post’s proposal also included price increases for the delivery of ordinary large letters delivered to the regular timetable.
On 30 November 2022, the ACCC decided to not object to the prices relating to notified services that were set out in Australia Post’s price notification.
