Bunnings Building Supplies Pty Ltd - s.87B undertaking

Bunnings ran a promotion attaching Do it for Aust Buy Aussie Made price cards to non-Aust made products falsely representing the origin of the products in breach of ss 52 and 53(eb). The undertaking contains an acknowledgment by Bunnings that its conduct is likely to have breached the Act and undertakes that Bunnings will:

not misrepresent place of origin in any future promotional activities;

refund full price to any consumer who claims they were misled for a period of 3 months after date of U/T;

institute and maintain a compliance program in accordance with AS - 3806;

audit of that program annually for 3 years;

and place corrective advertising in store, in newspapers and on TV.
