Darling Downs Bacon Co-operative Association Limited - s.87B undertaking

Darling Downs Bacon Co-operative Association Limited (DDB) caused the publication of a newspaper advertisement and the broadcasting of a television advertisement in which it was represented that one of DDBs brand name products, KR Darling Downs products, were made from 100% Australian Pork. In actual fact only KR Darling Downs refrigerated products are made from 100% Australian Pork, while KR Darling Downs Leg Ham and Shoulder Ham were for a time made from pork meat grown and manufactured in USA. DDB undertook to refrain from making such representations in the future, to arrange to publish corrective notices in national newspapers apologising for the conduct and offering refunds to consumers who were misled, and to create and maintain a trade practices compliance program compliant with the relevant Australian Standards.
