The ACCC has issued a draft determination proposing to authorise a group of car rental operators to collectively negotiate with Cairns Airport.
The ACCC proposes to grant authorisation for five years.
The ACCC considers, based on the information before it, that the collective bargaining conduct is likely to result in some small public benefit, by providing an opportunity for greater input into agreements with Cairns Airport and resulting in some transaction cost savings; and that this public benefit would outweigh any likely detriment to the public from the conduct.
