The ACCC has issued a final determination granting authorisation to Bayside Council and Georges River Council to jointly tender and enter into contracts for waste and recycling services, and enter into separate contracts for these services.

The ACCC considers the proposed conduct would be likely to result in public benefits in the form of transaction cost savings and other efficiencies, and some environmental benefits. The ACCC considers the arrangements would be likely to result in little, if any, public detriment.

The ACCC has decided to grant authorisation for 15 years, until 20 April 2038.

Further information is available on the ACCC’s authorisation public register.
