The events of the past 12 months have certainly indicated we are in store for a substantially different telecommunications environment in the not-too-distant future. However, rather than privatisation, it is the possibility of new competitive models arising from the changed environment which are of most interest to the ACCC. The ACCC's take on the current environment is that the industry is in a state of flux, and everybody is looking for certainty.
