The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has decided to not object to a revised proposal from Airservices Australia to increase its prices for services such as air traffic control.

In its view on Airservices’ previous proposal, which was released on 8 September 2011, the ACCC was concerned that proposed price increases would see Airservices over-recover its costs.

“Airservices has now proposed lower prices than were in its previous proposal, which the ACCC believes will not lead it to over-recover its costs,” ACCC chairman Rod Sims said.

Airservices is now free to implement these revised prices as planned on 1 October 2011.

A copy of the ACCC’s final decision will be available on the ACCC website.
