The Federal Court in Darwin today ordered that Mr Ramon Keshow pay compensation to eight indigenous women totalling $26,530.

In earlier action by the ACCC, the Federal Court found that Mr Keshow had engaged in unconscionable and misleading and deceptive conduct and banned him from entering Northern Territory indigenous communities to conduct his business of promoting educational materials.

"This further action was taken by the ACCC to obtain compensation for the women who complained to the ACCC", ACCC Chairman, Mr Graeme Samuel, said.  "They had each paid substantial amounts of money to Mr Keshow through automatic bank payments and received little or no goods in return".

Mr Ramon Keshow is a Perth businessman who conducts his business under the business names of National Maths Academy, Drysdale Correspondence Schools and Easy Buying Services.

The court also ordered costs against Mr Keshow.

Mr Keshow has indicated that he will repay these monies and the ACCC will use its best endeavours to ensure that he does.
