A prohibition on certain concerted practices came into effect on November 2017. A concerted practice involves communication or cooperative behaviour between businesses that may not amount to cartel conduct (forming an understanding) but goes beyond a business independently responding to market conditions.

Most commonly, concerted practices will involve a pattern of cooperative behaviour or communications between 2 or more businesses.

Concerted practices are illegal if they have the purpose of, or are likely to have the effect of substantially lessening competition.
