Final report 23 Oct 2020

On 23 October 2020, the ACCC released the final report on its inquiry to make a final access determination for the Domestic Transmission Capacity Service (DTCS).

The 2020 final access determination sets out both price and non-price terms and conditions for access to the DTCS, which will be effective until 31 March 2025.

The 2020 DTCS final access determination makes adjustment to the output of the 2016 final access determination regression model to determine primary price terms for access to the DTCS over the next regulatory period, retaining the current price uplifts for undersea services to Tasmania and Christmas Island.

The new final access determination mandates, where available, the inclusion of online ordering and enhanced service monitoring of faults within the regulated price for the DTCS. Existing non-price terms and conditions of access to the DTCS are rolled over onto the new final access determination.

The 2020 DTCS final access determination instrument can be accessed through the ACCC public registers at Final Access Determination No. 2 of 2020 for the Domestic Transmission Capacity Service (DTCS).
