On 10 May 2002 Airservices Australia submitted a preliminary proposal to the ACCC outlining increases in prices for declared services, including en route navigation and terminal navigation and aviation rescue and fire fighting at certain airports.
Airservices responded to the preliminary view by submitting three alternative draft notifications to the ACCC on 2 July 2002.
On 25 July 2002 the ACCC decided that it did not object to the proposed increase and informed Airservices. The increases were to take effect on 28 July 2002 for a period of 11 months.
