Airservices has proposed increases to its charges for enroute navigation, terminal navigation, and aviation rescue and fire-fighting services between April 2024 and January 2026. The proposed weighted average price increase is cumulatively 19% in nominal terms. Airservices last increased its prices in 2015 by 0.4%, and reduced prices by 2% in 2019.
The ACCC considers the timing of the first proposed increase in April 2024 does not appear achievable based on the time required for the ACCC’s assessment of both the draft and formal price notifications, as well as the required consultation with the Minister.
The ACCC published an issues paper on 30 November 2023, seeking stakeholder views on Airservices' proposal. Submissions to the issues paper were due by 19 January 2024.
