Description of Conduct
On 26 April 2024, the Australian Dental Association Inc (the ADA), on behalf of itself and members, lodged an application for revocation of authorisation AA1000638 and substitution of a new authorisation AA1000669.
The ADA is seeking authorisation for the making of and giving effect to contracts, arrangements and understandings between 2 or more dental practitioners as to the fees to be charged for dental services provided within shared practices.
Authorisation is sought for a period of 5 years. The ADA is also seeking interim authorisation to allow shared practices to continue to engage in the conduct covered by the authorisation while the ACCC conducts its assessment of the substantive application and following expiration of the ACCC’s existing authorisation AA1000638 on 16 June 2024.
