About this register
This register contains notifications of price increases of notified goods and services from declared firms. This includes some airport and aviation services and some postal services.
The ACCC assesses notifications. This allows us to monitor prices in markets where there isn’t enough competition.
After assessing the proposed price increases, we can either not object to the increases, not object to increases lower than those proposed, or object to the proposed increases.
Register entries include:
- copies of all locality notices that have been considered
- a statement of the outcome of our consideration of the notice
- copies of any notices that have been made about the locality notice.
Latest price notifications
On 30 November 2015, Australia Post provided the ACCC with a price notification proposing price increases for its ‘ordinary’ letter services to apply from 4 January 2016.
On 4 June 2015, Airservices Australia (Airservices) provided the ACCC with a price notification proposing increases to its charges for terminal navigation and aviation rescue and fire-fighting services, effective from 1 July 2015.
On 10 June 2014, Airservices Australia (Airservices) provided the ACCC with a price notification proposing increases to its charges for terminal navigation (TN) and aviation rescue and fire-fighting (ARFF) services, effective from 1 July 2014.
On 31 January 2014, Australia Post provided the ACCC with a price notification proposing increase in its ‘ordinary’ letter services to apply from 31 March 2014.
On 14 August 2013 the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) decided to not object to Sydney Airport Corporation Limited’s (SACL’s) price notification covering charges for the provision of aeronautical services and facilities to regional air services by Sydney Airport.
On 30 May 2013, Airservices Australia (Airservices) provided the ACCC with a formal price notification proposing increases to its charges for terminal navigation (TN) and aviation rescue and fire-fighting (ARFF) services, effective from 1 July 2013.
On 8 June 2012, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) received a price notification (or ‘locality notice’) from Airservices Australia (Airservices) under subsection 95Z(5) of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
On 9 September 2011, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) received a price notification (a locality notice) from Airservices Australia (Airservices) under subsection 95Z(5) of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (CCA).
On 22 August 2011, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) received a price notification (a locality notice) from Airservices Australia (Airservices) under subsection 95Z(5) of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (CCA).
On 17 September 2010 the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) decided to object to Sydney Airport Corporation Limited’s (SACL’s) proposal to increase charges for the provision of certain aeronautical services to regional air services at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport.
On 1 April 2010 Australia Post lodged a locality notice under subsection 95Z(5) of the Trade Practices Act 1974. This locality notice proposed increases in prices of Australia Post's domestic reserved letter services.
On 28 January 2010, the ACCC decided not to object to the proposed price by Airservices Australia for a terminal navigation service provided to aircraft landing at Avalon aerodrome.
On 18 July 2008 Australia Post lodged a locality notice under subsection 95Z(5) of the Trade Practices Act 1974. This locality notice proposed increases in prices of Australia Post's reserved letter services.
On 14 December, Airservices Australia (Airservices) lodged a formal price notification under subsection 95Z(5) of the Trade Practices Act 1974 Airservices proposed a path of prices for its aviation rescue and fire fighting services to apply from 1 January 2006, and ending 30 June 2009.
