On 7 May 2024 the ACCC sent a letter to stakeholders seeking comments on ARTC's proposal to extend the term of the Interstate Access Undertaking to 31 December 2024. The extension is intended to provide sufficient time for consultation on ARTC’s proposed replacement undertaking. It will also ensure there is no uncertainty for users as to whether the statutory assessment processes will be finalised before the existing undertaking would have expired on 30 June 2024.
Submissions are due to transport@accc.gov.au by 5 pm (AEST) Wednesday 22 May 2024.
On 6 May 2024 ARTC submitted an application to extend the term of its 2008 Interstate Access Undertaking to 31 December 2024. This is a 6-month extension from the existing expiration date of 30 June 2024.
On 12 December 2023 ARTC submitted the 2024 Interstate Access Undertaking application. This undertaking is intended to replace the 2008 undertaking. It is available on the ACCC website.
