Undertaking lodged26 Nov 2004

On 26 November 2004 Vodafone lodged an ordinary access undertaking with the ACCC specifying the terms and conditions it would undertake to meet its standard access obligations to supply the domestic mobile terminating access service (MTAS). The terms and conditions related to the pricing of the MTAS and some other matters of supply. The undertaking includes a service description and usage charges specifying Vodafone's proposed charges for the service outlined in the service description.

Following requests for further information by the ACCC, Vodafone wrote to the ACCC on 7 February 2005 informing the ACCC that it had discovered an unintentional omission in the data inputs to the PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC) cost modelling of the cost of supply of the MTAS on the Vodafone network (See appendix 2).

Vodafone has informed the Commission that this change would result in a downward revision of PwC's calculation of the cost of supply of the MTAS on Vodafone's network. Vodafone has provided the following revision for 2005–2007:

The revision provided by Vodafone for 2005-07
Validity period Usage charge Revised usage charge
1. 1 July 2004 – 31 December 2004 21 cpm 21 cpm
2. 1 January 2005 – 31 December 2005 19.83 cpm 19.38 cpm
3. 1 January 2006 – 31 December 2006 18.67 cpm 17.77 cpm
4. 1 January 2007 – 30 June 2007 17.5 cpm 16.15 cpm
Any subsequent Validity Periods 17.5 cpm 16.15 cpm

Vodafone has advised the ACCC that at this stage it does not propose to formally revise the cost modelling figures for the purposes of the ACCC's consideration of Vodafone's undertaking.
