Inquiry into NBN access pricing

The ACCC has published a position paper to provide an indicative view of the nature and direction of any final access determination that could be made at the conclusion of our inquiry. We envisage that the position paper could also assist NBN Co to develop a revised commercial offer and allow RSPs to address more effectively outstanding matters.

The ACCC has also decided to put the inquiry on hold in recognition of the need for industry members to respond to the changing traffic volumes and usage patterns and other issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic and NBN Co’s temporary offer to allow access seekers to purchase up to 40% more CVC capacity at no additional charge.

The ACCC will resume the inquiry and decide whether to proceed to make a final access determination once the emergency health situation has stabilised and more is known about the impacts on the industry.
