Extension of inquiry period and existing final access determinations7 Jun 2019

Notice extending inquiry period

On 6 June 2019, the ACCC decided to extend the period for making final access determinations for the declared fixed line services (LCS, WLR, LSS, ULLS, FOAS, FTAS and WADSL) until 12 December 2019.

The ACCC has been unable to complete its inquiry within the decision making period ended 12 June 2019. This is because the Commission considers it appropriate to undertake further consultation on its proposed approach to making final access determinations. The ACCC intends to issue a draft decision which will provide further guidance on its proposed approach to making final access determinations that is likely to be adopted in the final decision on the fixed line services final access determination public inquiry.

The ACCC anticipates releasing the draft access determination for the fixed line services in July 2019 before releasing the final decision in September 2019.

Extension of existing final access determinations

On 6 June 2019, the ACCC decided to extend the existing the final access determinations for the declared fixed line services.

The existing final access determinations were due to expire on 30 June 2019. The ACCC has extended these final access determinations as it won't be in a position to make the new fixed line services final access determinations prior to their expiration.

A copy of the extension instrument can be found on the ACCC public register.
